What the camera caught is something words rarely manage: a close-up of worn hands gripping the rough wooden post of a protest sign, knuckles set, fingers firm. The message on the cardboard above is out of frame. The message in those hands is not. This is what determination looks like when it's been standing for hours, days, weeks — not a slogan, but a grip that won't let go.
