Majestic Despite the Chaos

If I hear one more time that "Big Ben" refers to the bell — not the clock, not the tower — I may scream.

Which is perhaps why I chose this view: unorthodox, jittery, frantic, shot at night from an angle that refuses to be a postcard.

And yet the Elizabeth Tower holds its ground. Majestic despite the chaos around it. Not unlike its namesake. Not unlike any tourist standing beneath it, neck craned, trying to make sense of something much larger than themselves.
