Three hundred and eleven
That's the number of stairs between street level and the top of the Monument to the Great Fire of London. I know, because I've climbed them.
Built in 1677, this Doric column was conceived both as a memorial to the fire that consumed the medieval city and as a symbol of London's resilience and renewal.
This interior shot looks upward through the column's dizzying spiral — geometry and shadow converging at a vanishing point far above, where history and architecture become one.
Print specifications:
- Fuji Crystal Archive print using laser light technology with photosensitive paper and traditional processing
- Alu-Dibond backing for durability and ensures the print lays flat
-
Acrylic matte glass to reduce reflections and provide protection
- Designer frame by Studio Besau-Marguerre - Each of the four profiles of the frame shows a different nuance of the chosen color scheme. The deliberate arrangement of dark to light creates a strong dynamic between the frame and image. The tonality and gentle color gradient as well as the matte painted surface ensure that the frames still remain neutral.
